Most of the cattle on our farm are Angus beef cattle. In our herd, we have roughly 160 momma cows or cow/calf pairs. Angus cows are usually black, although some may be more red in color. They are also used as a genetic dehorner as the polled gene is passed on as a dominant characteristic. Horns can cause bruising or injury to other animals, so dehorned cattle keep our herd healthier and safer.
